Julian Fairey is an experimentalist with a research focus centered around the characterization, transformation, and removal of natural organic matter (NOM) during drinking water treatment. The goal of his work is to develop strategies and novel materials that drinking water treatment plants can leverage to curb formation of disinfection byproducts. An emerging theme in the research group focuses on water and sanitation issues related to disaster relief in developing countries.
